Below is an excerpt from Mr Cheong Soon Cheong with regards to how bad his students behaved that night .. his disgruntments on the whole night is shadowed in every word and letter.. I maust say we have let him and maybe some other teachers down with this organising the reunion… Read on…

The transformation of all the 17 years youngsters over the years into talented adults in all walks of life is really amazing, just cannot imagine the metemorphosis that had taken place , seeing u all ladies n gentlemen together as a family is really touching n augur well for our nation. Ur care n respect shown us together with all that u lavished on us make me understand the word “indulgences” (sorry science teacher no good in language) It takes me a few days to get over the hangover but ur smiles, songs n love for one another will live inmy mind forever. I am sure the other teachers feel the same too. Keep it up n May God bless u n ur beloved ones always. Thanks once again n forward this to the other classmates in ur blog.. Peace. Mr cheong.”"”

He was refering to why we did not managed to hold on to the hands of the clock that night to keep it from going too fast! I must apologize for overlooking this matter … Next time we have a job for Varugheese to do .. Smash the XXX clock! No paints allowed..

To my dear sirs and teachers .. be well be happy always …

One of the best reapings of this reunion is reinstatement of the closest fraternity your childhood. To many, especially those who attended the much awaited reunion, it was a night of ooooh! and aaahhh! How short the time was for the night …
To me, it is a night where food did not matter( I only managed a few bites that sweet Wai Fong got for me! – Best tasting prawns in town! Served after 32 years of marinating! ). Catching up with 62 classmates and 14 teachers is simply too short to complete .. mathematically it gaved me only 3.97 minutes for each person. I did not recall going out to pee pee also! .. Catching up time to make sure all having a good time, and events go smoothly .. and no smiles are missing.

The speakers though unprepared fared considerably well… more often than not floating off to a land of uncertainty in a world of thier own… some back in thier old days , some in the heavenly herbal gardens and some in the days of hardship punishment by the teachers.. All in good stride.. Guys and gals…no matter what .. all the teachers think you all did well.. though they never manage to express thier appreciation for your trying efforts.
The next event ? Where? When ? What should we be doing ? Who is to organise this ? All these rhetorics has to start some where after such an eventful night…
My friends, trust me… there will be more events coming up .. as long as there is someone, some where, some response, some time and finally some cause! We will meet again. To me, the cause is not complete yet .. we manage to rope in only 38% of the total electorate. Poor turn out .. In fact there is insufficient quorum to conduct the meeting officially. Lucky we did not have to apply for a permit! Otherwise we recount the votes..
A class of 1977 is not complete without more than 50% joining .. maybe like some of you says having it near the school or at the school will bring more people back ..more reasons to be take that ride back.. I will NOT miss it if any one can take the lead to organise it …
A BBQ? No beer ? Mati la ala olang! Panas oh! .. lanti mau pegi pacial lagi muka sulat hangus! Think again ..back to the drawing board….
The other reward of this event for me was to be able to gardner more help for the school and some of our classmates( morally! ) Despite, Mother Nature’s merciful wand, it did miss out on blessing all of us in one way or another.. Some went thru life well, some not so.. some contented, some still struggling …. but thru her mercifulness, all these were casted aside as we all stood shoulder to shoulder as equals as friends and closer than friends… For only thru this will we be the true brother’s and sister’s of MSS 1977.
Like WOK with YAN famous saying … Chinese proverbs.. Man Compare Man, Compare until Man dies!
Simple words but true to the heart .. the only comparision you ever need to make in our CLASS 1977 is HOW TRUE you are as your friend next to you …
My hats off to many who found your true self! Let me take a bow for the person who tore off a part of his name tag that did not matter to him that night in front of true friends.. This I truely SALUTE you..
I am terharu when ‘John’ H.Bolah told me he did not need the name John for the night!
That is my true KAWAN…..

On behalf of the organising busybodies, I thank all of you for showering heaps of praises and thanks for the night..
In fact you are the real stars that illuminated the night… we were but the candlestick holders!
Moving on….

The next chapters….

Sharing and Caring….in the right way.

There are lots we can harness on from the night WE all shared the friendship we reignite. The passion that we rejuvenated and the memories that we relived!

Where do we go from here.?…? Share this passion with your dear ones… your love ones and your close ones…Let them know the Real you ..how you started and how you have transformed if you have ! This is where it starts ….. Enjoy it with them…

The photos will follow in a CD. Please send in your mail address so that we can deliver it over to all of you .. We will also set up a website to load in the picture… which may mean they are all publicly accessible and to some it may be slow to down load, Hence please revert if anyone have any problems with this way .. before we proceed.

Events… please feel free to branch out into smaller groups now that you all have the contacts to organise events and if you need to use this blogsite …..USE IT! By all means…I will not discourage any postings that will be useful. As for the group activities.. the committee will arrange a visit to the school to discuss the needs of the school with what we can do. For now the trip will have to wait till the head master is back … we encourage all to try to make it ..
the idea is to do the following..
1) To use the collection we managed , 10k+ to facilitate the upgrade of certain things in the school and label it as a contribution from CLASS of 1977. This is to slowly but surely instill a sense of ownership and responsibilty to the present and future students of the school that they ought to carry the tradition of the school.Whenever they look at the plaques they will be constantly be reminded if they ever attempt to vandalise the schools property again .
2)Hopefully we will be able to get some nationwide publicity with the consent of the school and BOGs to mobilise the rest of the CLASSES of 72,73,74,75,76,78,79,80,81,82,83, to do thier bit in other areas required by the school. This if done effectivly will snowball the required funding to enable the school to shine. However, it is not our jurisdistion to ensure the school excell academically, we would be able to just provide the best of environment to create better students of the future from Methodist.
Any one is invited to come along and it would be meaningful as it would mean lots to the school that you came from .
SO LOOK out for the blog posting…
3) Could there be a fund raising campaign with events and sponsorships to meet the specific requirements of the school currently… Are we able to motivate the Teachers to groom our future generations to excel? How do we motivate the students presently to do better than us in the future as fore bearers of the MSS pride? This could be a long road but surely a benevolent one to trod on…

Having a hang over? You should! I am surprised if anyone did not! Many of you did not realised it but we were serving 32years of vintage wines piked into the lemonades, mineral water and even the coffee! Just wanted to make sure if anyone got an overdose or some still have the lingering nostalgic taste wetting thier lips till now.

It is our sincere wish that all had a good night at the party, renew your vows with your long lost friends and enjoy each other’s company. Even more so, our guests, the teachers, the classmates from outstation and abroad had found a new elixir in life… a rejuvenated friendship! An everlasting bond with your students and classmates.

There may be some mix ups during the night and I would like your sincere ( jokingly or otherwise) feedback on the events of the night so that we can all share the moments that you enjoyed , the moments that you thought should have been longer ( Except the unpreparedness of the openning speech!)
What could have been added to the list of events, what could have been shortened and what could have been lengthen because you did not have enough of it that night!
I think duringthe night there was a lot of mingling around . even the shy lots were having a ball laughing and chatting away … wish the night could have been longer ? Well I could tellthe teachers certainly stay on longer than I had expected that goes to say … they DID NOT have enough of the night! Miss Khor had no choice but o leave early because she has to take care of her complexion with sufficient sleep unlike many of her students who did not knwo how to spell SLEEEEP. One of many things that Amy and I did not do too well was to thank the team of people instrumental in putting this event up… Sea Ping, Tasan, Yoke Keong, Putri, Wata and Aik Hooi! Thanks all for chipping in to help. and also we forgot to thank Adrene the helper for the night! She must have had her hair all stressed up with all the request from everyone. Finally all of you out there, this reunion is FOR YOU, BY YOU and definitely BECAUSE of YOU..

SOme updates for you all…

The photos should be back this week.
I would like to see a posting if there is a majority of you who wants it developed into an album with real photos not like the one we gave out in the dinner. We can try to get this work out sourced to the photographer. If not, we will just send the DVDs over to all. Please revert with your response so that we can act on it. To many watching the pictures on a display screen is not as real as a photo where you can run your fingers over ..

A few things that transpired during the gathering , what we can do for the school… we have the donations ready and requisition for help from the Ministry of Education has been made..Suggestions were to either give the ,lump sum to the school or to find what specifics the school need and do the needful under the sponsorship of the Class of 1977.
In not a too distant future, we can even organise a trip back to the school to have a look see, enjoy the food … maybe have a picnic on top of the hill at Dr Tweedie( Assuming the home is vacant! ) But really to see what is need and can be done for the school. And it is totally voluntary.

For those who did not manage to make it for the night … YOU did not miss much … You missed only the best part of your life! I leave you with a group photo that we took and hope you will enjoy it …Please do not feel restraint from getting in touch with your classmates and true enough many of those that did not attend the reunion that night was asked for! I can only stoop my head and admit I failed to convince them to come.!

pS: There has been request to know who are in KL and who are in Ipoh and elsewhere. I guess we will try to put up a list (if we have time !) or else HELL pick up the GD Marconi device and CALL!
